John E. Duty age 87, was called home to The Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at home with family at his side.  John was born in Bee, Virginia on February 19, 1937.  He was a faithful member of Heritage Free Will Baptist Church for many years and served in the bus and visiting ministries at the church.   John worked at Westinghouse for 27 years and also at Techneglas for 17 years.  In John's spare time he was an avid bowler, golfer, played basketball and softball and played in many leagues and teams.   Preceded in death by mother, Fonda; wife, Patricia; sister, Annalee Evans; brothers, Norman, Ray and Gary Duty.  Survived by daughters, Belinda Kerns-Hutter, Diana (Thomas) Davison and Patty (Chris) Igou; son, John Duty; grandchildren, Max and Joey Kerns, Jeni Jonas, Thomas Davison, Jami, Jessica, Christopher, Asiah, Matthew and Shawn; great grandchildren, Jaden Kerns, Zachary Jonas, Cameron Jonas, Selenia, Aubrey, Laveda, Hazel, Raylene, Cynthia, Landon, Aden, Aarika, Zoie, Elysia, Wyatt, Atreyu, Kyra, Tawni, Elijah and Kyra; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.   Visitation will be held at O. R. WOODYARD CO. S.  High Chapel, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 4 to 6 pm.  Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 11 am.   Pastor Tim W. Stout officiating.   Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery.  Family wishes to express their appreciation to all their friends and family and their apologies should anyone have been overlooked.
