John Lee Underwood age 77, passed away with family at his side on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Grant Hospital.

John was a deeply devoted husband and father who had a quirky, sense of humor. He had a love for fishing and spending time on the river bank.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gilda (Sue) Weyrick.

John’s memory will be cherished forever by his beloved blended family, including

His son: John Lee Underwood Jr. (Etta Thumburg) whom he shared with his late wife Betty Underwood. Kevin and Kenneth Myers and Jessie Conley whom they lovingly raised as their own.

John is also survived by 10 cherished great grandchildren

John was preceded in death by his Mother Dora Underwood, his late wife Betty Underwood and his two son’s Brian and Tommy Underwood. He was also the last surviving son. He is now reunited with all of his loved ones who have passed before him.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11 am until time of service at 1pm. Pastor Benjamin Tatman officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
