John Joseph Jack Luebbe, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 26 surrounded by family. Jack made life fun with his fantastic sense of humor, wit, and contagious laughter. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father, loving grandfather, proud great-grandfather, wonderful brother, and friend.
Jack was a longtime, devout Catholic who developed a deep personal relationship with Christ. He truly displayed love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As a result, he valued people and relished each day of life.
Jack attended St. Thomas Aquinas and then The Ohio State University. He served in the Naval Air Force on the USS Forrestal, worked in his family's business, and had a long career in medical sales. Finally, he retired after 30 years as a Realtor and licensed broker. In his later years, Jack enjoyed building puzzles with his friends, visiting with family, watching movies, and serving as the self-appointed mayor of his assisted living facility.
He is the beloved father of Susan (Jeff) Johnson and Jay (Connie) Luebbe, and stepfather to Tom (Mary Tim) Meeks and Tim Meeks. He was a loving grandfather to Cody, Cameron, Joshua, Alexa, Shawn, Lauren, Crystal, Tyler, and Lynsey. He also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Mary Lou (David) Gearhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Patricia Ann Pattie Hammond Luebbe; his wife of 27 years, Mary Sue Suzie Brant Meeks Luebbe; his father, Albert Jerome Luebbe; his mother, Mary Louise Rentz Luebbe; his brother, Albert James Jim Luebbe; and his sister, Marlene Virginia Luebbe Perez-Perez.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of his loyal friends and caregivers.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Pfeifer-Woodyard Funeral Home, located at 7915 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. A time of gathering for family and friends will immediately follow.
