John F. Maynard, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Riverside hospital. He was born in Inez, Kentucky to the late Floyd and Oma Fletcher Maynard.

John was known to be the life of any party and was always around when a good time was to be had. Often times a family gathering or a party wasn't complete unless he was dancing around and getting others to join in on the fun.He enjoyed going boating and fishing in his free time and was determined to get his boat out one more time before the weather got to cold. When John wasn't out fishing he could be found playing poker, cornhole or spending time with his family who he loved dearly.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Maynard; daughter, Madgie Maynard; parents, Floyd and Oma Maynard; brothers, Herbert, Floyd, Vernal, Edgar, and Claude; sisters, Mida, Patricia, Ola and Naomi Jean.

John is survived by his fiance, Betty Messer; children, Theresa (Tom Jones) Maynard, Lisa (Josh) Brown, Anna (Todd) Coleman, and John (Kim) Maynard; grandchildren, April, Philip, Kayla, Victoria, Chelsea, Amber, Nanassa, William, Baby Dave, John, Madisyn, Stephen, Joseph, McKenzie, Aleigha, Bentley, Jayden, Nova and Harley; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Madgie (Dallas) Ousley, Troy (Willa) Maynard, Jesse (Donna) Maynard, T.J. (Louella) Maynard, Rebecca (Lloyd) McCoy, Aileen (Lloyd) Bowen, Doris (Joe) Posanti; and many nieces, nephews, additional family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 2PM - 4PM & 6PM - 8PM, a service will be held on the following day, Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:30AM at the O.R. WOODYARD Co. South Chapel 1346 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43207. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery, Pastor James Blake will be officiating.
