John Jay Minney, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Columbus, OH. John was born January 4, 1960 in Williamson, WV, to Linda and Gene Minney. John graduated from Chillicothe High School where he excelled at track. He was a graduate of Bowling Green University. In 1995, he married Carol Wheeler. He lived in Columbus, OH and spent a majority of his career working as a Buyer for Kimball Midwest. He loved meeting his friends in Chillicothe for a weekend of good times. He loved fishing with his grandfather. He was a big fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. John is preceded in death by his father, Gene Minney and brother, David Minney. John is survived by his wife, Carol Wheeler; mother, Linda Minney; niece, Leslie (Cody DeWitt) Minney; nephew, Coleman Minney; uncle, Johnny (Anita) Kirk; aunts, LaDonna (Bill) Kirk and Devra (Brian) Roberts; cousin, Zach and many more family members and friends. A graveside committal service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Southlawn Cemetery located at 1317 Cemetery Dr. in Coshocton, OH 43812. Arrangements are entrusted to The O.R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel of Columbus.
