Joseph "Joe" Frank Banaski, 98, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was born November 10, 1927 in Moundsville, West Virginia to John and Mary Banaski. Joe graduated from Union High School in Benwood, West Virginia. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army in both World War II and the Korean War. Upon his discharge, Joe worked as a laborer at several industrial plants in the Ohio Valley. In 1966, he was appointed to the position of Postmaster of the US Post Office in Tiltonsville, Ohio. He remained in that position until his retirement in 1991. Joe's favorite activity was playing golf, which he did often upon retirement. He also enjoyed going to dances with his wife and tending to his vegetable garden. While living in Tiltonsville, Joe was an active member of the volunteer fire department and the Lions Club, where he was a past president.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Ramona ("Monie"), his brother John Banaski, and sister Josephine (Ed) Rzepka. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Tina Banaski, grandsons Michael (Chelsey) and Nathan, great-grandson Roman and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will occur January 31, 2026 at 10:30 am in Upland Heights Cemetery, Yorkville, Ohio.
