Joy Darlene Gent, age 61, of Obetz Ohio passed away Friday, May 22, 2026 surrounded by her family. Joy was born to Eli and Sarah Frances Cornett on July 29,1964 as the 7th of 8 children.

Joy married Robert Gent and lived a life filled with love, kindness, and laughter. She brought the literal "joy" wherever she went by teasing and joking with her friends, family and even the occasional nurses or waiter. She was a devoted mother who took great pride in raising her children. Her 3 sons and 2 grandsons were the light of her life. Her mother's intuition was strong, she always seemed to know what they were up to before anyone had to say anything and also knew right away when something was bothering them. She would move heaven and earth to make sure her family was happy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Joy was survived in death by her husband Robert Gent, her sons Brandon Cornett, Bryan Gent (Stacy Gent), Bradley Cornett (Emily Cornett), her Grandsons Brandon (Eli) Cornett, Cooper Gent, her sisters Deborah Holsapple, Sherri Siniff, and brother David Cornett, among with numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She is proceeded in death by her brothers Paul Cornett, Dannie Cornett, Garry Cornett, and her sister Anna DeFide.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Groveport, 5521 Groveport Rd., Groveport OH 43125.
