Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Judy Lynn (Anders) Landis, age 59, passed away in

Marysville, Ohio on January 10, 2026. Judy lived her life with a rare kind of devotion to her family, to

her work, and to every person who was lucky enough to cross her path. She was deeply proud of her

family, and that pride showed in the way she talked about them, supported them, and celebrated

every milestone. She possessed a rare combination of gentility, strength, feistiness, and radiant

love.

Judy was born in Washington Court House, Ohio on December 22, 1966, to the late Lewis Maynard

Anders Sr. and Ruby Eileen Anders and she graduated from Miami Trace High School. She met her

husband, John Landis, while working at Hechinger's, and they were married September 11, 1987. A

dedicated provider, Judy worked at Discover Financial Services for 35 years and then for the State of

Ohio. She was an award-winning employee known to be a supportive mentor who taught

compassion and leadership. She coached many of her subordinates on to receive promotions, and

she had an incredible work ethic.

Outside of work Judy was a woman of many passions. She was very creative and enjoyed drawing,

scrap booking, and making picture boards. She was an avid gardener and maintained a beautiful

flower garden, complete with decorative objects and bird feeders. Judy appreciated the birds and

wildlife that we encountered on family hikes or at her backyard feeders. She was passionate about

music and loved attending concerts, singing karaoke, and sharing her knowledge and appreciation

of music with her sons. She and her husband John never met a stranger, and one could frequently

find them "holding court" at Benny's, hanging out with friends and supporting local musicians.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John David Landis. She was a proud mom to

sons John David (Elizabeth) Landis II and Jamy Lee Landis (Jada Daum); and a very proud

grandmother to Ellone Jade Landis. She is also survived by sisters Tamela Jean and Lisa Ann Anders

and her brother, Lewis Maynard (Patty) Anders Jr. Judy's passing is also mourned by a multitude of

family and friends.

Family and friends may gather Friday January 16, 2026 at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home – Northwest

Chapel at 2990 Bethel Rd, Columbus, OH 43220 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will

Should you wish to provide a donation in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in

Judy's name to the Union County Humane Society, the American Diabetes Association, or a charity

of your choosing.

Judy's legacy will be one of loving madly and deeply, living life to the fullest, putting others before

herself, working hard, and noticing the beautiful things. She will be remembered every time we

attend a concert, take a scenic drive, glimpse a beautiful bird or flower, go on a nature hike, or take

in the sea shore. Her love and pride and devotion will live on through all of us.
