Judy Lee
Phillips
May 19, 1949 — Aug 11, 2024
Judy Lee Phillips, a devoted pastor's wife, beloved mother, and wife, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 19, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Peggy & Fred Geis, she dedicated her life to her family, faith, and serving Jesus Christ with unwavering devotion. For nearly 50 years, she was a devoted partner to her husband, Reverend Virgil Phillips, supporting him in his ministry in the Church of God, while together they nurtured a loving family grounded in faith and community.
Judy was a loving mother to her three children: Kim Bryan (Greg), Lisa Birtcher, and Stephen Phillips (Katie). She had a huge, generous love for her six grandchildren—Shelby & Bailey Skaggs, Austin & Blake Birtcher, and EvaKate & Hudson Phillips—as well as several great-grandchildren—who knew her as "Nana." She was also a devoted sister to her late sister Cheryl Brumfield and her brother Timmy Geis. Her unwavering support, kindness, and guidance shaped the lives of those around her, and her legacy of love, rooted in her faith in Christ, will continue to live on through her family.
Judy will be remembered not only for her deep devotion to her family and faith but also for her warmth, grace, and compassionate spirit. Her life was a testament to the strength of her character and her steadfast commitment to those she loved.
Visitation for Judy will be on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and the funeral, officiated by Reverend Ron Branham, will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the O.R. Woodyard South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, Ohio.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions to help cover funeral expenses can be made through the GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/cc1a0078 . Your support is greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
