Justin Ray Thompson, age 36, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 surrounded by his family and friends at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Grove City, OH. Justin was born July 2, 1985 in Wilmington, OH to Debbie and Richard Thompson. Justin proudly served one tour in Afghanistan as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. Justin valued the time he spent with family and his many friends that he considered his family. He loved adventures to Disney World with his wife and children and could always be counted on for a delicious meal. Justin and his family are longtime members of The Grove City Church of the Nazarene. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Thompson; and stepbrother, Ryan Alonso. Justin is survived by his wife of 12 years, Samantha; daughters, Kaylee Mae, Josie Rae, and Abbi Shae; mother, Debbie Thompson; stepmother, Janet Thompson; siblings, Cindy Thompson and Anthony Alonso; uncle, Gary Pendall; aunts, Cheryl Gatwood, Deanie Pendall, Monda Thompson, Pam McConnell, and Melanie Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd. in Grove City, OH 43123. Military Honors will precede the service just outside of the church at 6:45 p.m. Pastor David Morrison officiating. Final arrangements through the O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, Justin's family encourages contributions to the Wounded Warriors' Foundation in his memory. His family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Mt. Carmel Grove City ICU for their dedicated care, as well as to all friends and church family, known or unknown, who have extended prayers, thoughts, and good deeds throughout Justin's illness.
