Justin, a devoted follower of Christ and a cherished member of his church family, went home to be with the Lord after a life marked by service, compassion, and faithful love for others.

Justin's life was built around simple, meaningful routines—his church, his friends, and yes, his Buckeye Donuts. He deeply loved his church family and served them in countless quiet ways. He was always willing to give rides, offer companionship, and care for those who could no longer care for themselves. Justin had a rare gift for noticing people—and stepping in when help was needed.

He lovingly cared for his mother until she reached the age of 93, when she was placed at Bickford. In God's providence, Justin himself would spend his final days there as well. Over the years, he also cared for his Aunt Clara until she required professional care, and later took in and cared for the woman who had once helped care for his mother, when medical expenses forced her to sell her home. Justin simply took care of people wherever and whenever he could.

At church, Justin was rarely alone. He almost always arrived with someone in tow, a smile on his face, and a story ready to tell. One of his favorite stories was about his many adventures in Mexico. As a railroad engineer, Justin was often laid off during winter months. After an invitation from a fellow railroad friend, he traveled to Mexico—where he quickly became loved by the local community and formed lasting friendships. What began as a single trip turned into a yearly journey that continued for more than 30 years.

In later years, Justin faced increasing health challenges, including dementia and severe issues with mobility, it becoming clear that he needed additional care. Even in assisted living, Justin was never without the love and presence of those who cared deeply for him.

During his time at Bickford of Worthington, visits from friends brought him great joy. Worship songs were sung, stories were shared, and smiles were abundant. Justin's face would light up during those moments, reminding everyone that his spirit remained strong and his faith intact.

Above all, Justin loved the Lord. His life reflected a servant's heart, and his faith was evident to all who knew him.

Today, we rejoice in the assurance that Justin has taken his final train ride and has arrived safely home, welcomed by his Savior with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Justin was a member of The One Hope Community Church on Cooke Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43224, where the visitation and service will be held.

Visitation on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 5 - 6 pm at church with service following at 6:00 pm, with Pastors Chris Fleece and Jeremy Stanley, officiating.

Honoring Justin's wishes, he will be cremated, then buried at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, in the near future.
