Kenneth Max Burdette Sr. passed away quietly at his home with family around him on July 22nd and is missed very much by those who loved him.
Born to Carl W. Burdette and Mother Jewell Edwards on November 30, 1939 in Culloden, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by youngest son Daniel Burdette, brothers Robert Burdette, Billy Burdette, Davey Burdette, Phil Burdette, Boyd Burdette, Gene Burdette and Gerald Burdette, and sister Leona Burdette Miller.
He converted to the Catholic Faith in the 1980s.
Graduated from Hurricane High School in 1957.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked in trucking, apartment management and with the Groveport Madison and Gahanna Schools.
He loves the Browns, Guardians, Cavaliers and the Buckeyes.
Surviving him are his wife of 62 years, Joyce Selan Burdette, Kenneth Max Burdette Jr. (Kelly), O. Elizabeth Burdette McColeman (Don), granddaughter Leah Burdette Deck (Keagan) and great granddaughters Judy Mae Deck and Rosalyn Sue Deck.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 27th at the Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home - Groveport (587 Main Street, Groveport) with services at Noon officiated by Father Tomas Alberto Carvajal-Basto. A small celebration of his life will follow the services at a nearby park.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Catholic Charities Hospice.
