Kenneth Neal "Pops" Timmons, age 78, Dad, Hero, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family September 16, 2026. He was born July 22, 1948 to his parents, Emmitt and Nellie Timmons in Columbus, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he was decorated with two Bronze stars, medals of valor and others. Lifetime member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 144, and Lifetime member of the Amvets and VFW. He was a hard worker, proud veteran and loving father and grandfather. He worked primarly as a truck driver and in the logistics business, many still called him by his CB radio handle "White Elephant." He retired from Conway Central Expess 16 years ago. Kenny had a heart for serving others. He, as the American Legion Chair Person, and his wife spent more than 20 years participating in Special Olympics events, and he found great purpose in volunteering and providing assistance at the VA. Helping people was simply part of who he was.

But to his family, Kenny was so much more than a proud veteran and a hard-working man. He was “Pops and PawPaw.”

Being a Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather was one of the greatest joys of Kenny’s life. He was the kind of dad whose love could be felt even when he didn’t say much. He was a protector, a teacher, a provider, and someone his family could always rely on. His ornery sense of humor could fill a room with laughter, and his stories, jokes, and unmistakable personality will be remembered for generations.

As a Grandfather, PawPaw created memories that will never be replaced. He loved watching his grandchildren grow and took pride in both of them. Becoming a Great Grandfather brought him another generation to love, spoil, tease, and watch over. To Layliana, Kamari, and Kaeliah, he was PawPaw—a name filled with love, comfort, laughter, and memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

His family will remember the little things most: his jokes, his stories, his stubborn and ornery ways, the sound of his voice, and the countless moments that made him uniquely Kenny. Those are the pieces of him that will live on—not only in photographs and stories, but in the people he helped shape.

Pops leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, hard work, and family. His greatest accomplishment was not found in the medals he received, the miles he traveled, or the years he worked. It was found in the family he loved and the lives he touched. Though his chair may now be empty and his voice may be quiet, his presence will remain in every story told about him, every laugh shared because of him, and every generation that carries a piece of him forward. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne Timmons. Kenny is survived by his daughter, Vonna (Tim) Tiller; son, Kenny (Kelly) Timmons; grandchildren, Timmy (Jennifer) and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Layliana, Kamari, and Kaeliah; extended family members Delmar and Melissa Stacy and Angel Roese along with many cherished friends, coworkers, and fellow members of American Legion Post 144. Kenny will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his hard-working spirit, his ornery sense of humor, and, most of all, the love he gave to his family and the many people whose lives he touched..

Visitation will be held at O. R. Woodyard Co. South Chapel , 1346 S. High St. Monday September 21, 2026 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Tuesday 10:00 a.m. Interment Fernwood Cemetery.
