Loretta Annabelle Zajdel, age 91, passed away in McKeesport, PA on April 25, 2020 following a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born on April 3, 1929 in Johnson Branch, WV to the late Thomas and Retta Darlington. She was the middle of their nine children. Annabelle grew up as a lively, funny, thoughtful and beautiful young woman. Her beauty was matched by her heart. She loved her family above all else. She is known for her caring nature and generosity, often shown by her care packages of home made baked goods and candies. Annabelle was the true Matriarch of her family. She will be remembered as a woman who personified beauty, inside and out. Annabelle is survived by her husband, Joseph Zajdel, of McKeesport, PA. She was a devoted mother to her only child, Jo Ann Petersen, who passed away in 2015. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Robin Petersen-Webster (David), R. Monte Petersen and Carrie Boden (Brian), as well as her great grandchildren Caroline Webster, Tatum Russell (Dirk), Addison Bare, Cristian Petersen, Sam Boden, Hayden Boden, and Phoebe Boden. She also leaves behind three great-great granddaughters Morgan, Lakelyn and Annalise Russell. Annabelle is also survived by her last living sister, Alma Gray, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Darlington, Bobbi Fridley, Mabel Fraley, Carl Darlington, Clinton Darlington, Flora Alapic and Howard Darlington.
