Hensley Lorita "Rita" Mae Hensley, 57, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017. Daughter of Bill and Juanita Stevens, loving wife of James Ernest Hensley, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her loving parents, Bill and Juanita Stevens; and loving husband, James Ernest Hensley of 41 years; three children, Amanda (Danny) Hanson, Ashley Hensley, Jimmy Hensley; four grandchildren, Hannah, Summer, Mia, and Ethan; sister, Regina (Tom) Asher; brothers, Tim (Janice) Stevens, Leon (Jenny) Stevens; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lorita loved staying home and taking care of her family. She was a long time member of South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church where she was loved by many. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of service Friday at 1 p.m. at South Columbus Freewill Baptist Church, 632 Hilock Rd., Columbus. Pastor Tim Stevens officiating.
