August 28, 2023 Cynthia "Louise" Ellis , 78, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home. Early that morning, God called her home and the clouds lifted and she was ushered into heaven.

Born on March 12, 1945 in Man, WV the daughter of the late Leck Lester and Lula (Walker) Carter. Louise was raised by her maternal grandparents the late Wirt and Sadie Walker.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Marlin Ellis and daughters Shari Ellis (Ed Williams) and Angela Porginski (Ed Porginski) and a nephew who was like her son Tony Messer. Louise was reunited with her eldest daughter Deborah Lester, her sister Wanda Browning, brother David Lester, brother Jerry Carter, Aunt Janice Myers, Aunt Martha Harvey, Aunt Geneva Ellis, Aunt Carol Adkins who all proceed her in death. She is survived by her sister Kathryn Wallace (Gordon Wallace) brother Leslie Lester (Trina Lester) Dreama Williamson (Doug Williamson) and Aunt Ann Paynter (Doug Paynter).

She treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mamaw to three surviving granddaughters Brandy Williams, Tabitha Weber and Ashley Ackley (fiancée Joe Miller). Six great grandchildren Jared Knight, Tye Dowell, Gavin Marcum, Tia Dowell, Zoey Marcum and Tae'Launa Dowell.

Louise had to many nieces,nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Marlin and Louise married December 24th, 1962 in Bruno, WV. They relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 1967 to pursue employment for Marlin. Marlin is a retiree of Buckeye Steele and was the sole provider for his wife and children. Louise was a stay at home mother with their three children.  At the age of 44, Louise attended The Ohio State School of Cosmetology and obtained her Cosmetology License.

Louise was the strong matriarch of her family. She was a maternal figure to many. She cherished her family and was the happiest when everyone was together around her. Louise was a fighter, a breast cancer survivor twice in her lifetime. She is loved and will be missed by many. The family is hosting a visitation at  O. R. Woodyard Co. Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday September 2, 2023, from 2:00-4:00. Cremation following the visitation.
