Lucille Holbrook (Hall), age 79, of Grove City Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2025. She was born May 17th, 1945, the daughter of Roy Hall and Cassie (Bailey) Hall in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was a 1963 graduate of Vandalia Butler High school in Vandalia, OH, followed by a lengthy employment with Orient State Institution in Pickaway Co., Ohio caring for the mentally ill until her retirement in 1983. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister and grandmother. She was known to many over the years as "Nanny." She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She was a caretaker by nature, and she touched the lives of all who knew her. Lucille "Lucy" is survived by husband Jerry Holbrook of Grove City OH; daughters Sheila Holbrook of Washington Courthouse, OH; Angela (Luis Zavala) Holbrook of Columbus OH; Cassie (Elgar) Erazo of Orient OH; grandsons Brian (Lori) Pickens, Colton (Audrey) Pickens, Brent Pickens, Alonso Zavala, Oscar Zavala, Rodrigo "RJ" Hernandez, Christian "CJ" Hernandez; great granddaughters Jennafer Pickens, Kimberly Pickens; great grandsons Jerry Pickens, Larry Pickens, Brian Pickens; brother Andy Hopkins; sister Sharon Jesse and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter Tammy Sue (Holbrook) Pickens, brothers Roy "Cotton" Hall, Marvin Hall, Edward Hall, Samuel Hall; sisters Goldie Romo (Hall), Connie Hall, Helen (Hall) Taylor; nephews Marvin Lee Hall, Greg Taylor, Robert "Bobby" Wilson; niece Cathy Jones. Visitation for Lucy will be on Wednesday January 15th, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at O.R. Woodyard Co. 1346 S High St, Columbus OH 43207. Her funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeff Leslie, will immediately follow at 1 pm with a burial at Grove City Cemetery.
