Malcom Damron, age 89, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. He was born on January 15, 1936, in Beauty, Kentucky to the late Frank and Vernie Damron. Malcom had a distinguished career as an oil prospector, working for many years in Texas and Alaska with Haliburton. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, which he carried into all aspects of his life. A beloved husband to his wife of 20 years, Sylvia Damron, he was a devoted father to Dan (Tammy) Damron, Dean Damron, Cynthia (Larry) Bush, Tony (Jennifer) Howell, and Bart (Liz) Howell. Malcom was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter, and he was deeply proud of his growing family. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue (Herman) Bowen of Kentucky, Arnold (Barb) Damron of Oklahoma, and Frank Damron of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his siblings Harold Damron, Fonzo Damron, Jewel Mahan, Paul Damron, and Mae Estep. Malcom will be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gahanna Freewill Baptist Church, 3868 Stygler Rd, Gahanna, Ohio, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Edwin Hayes will officiate.
