Marc Gregory Catalfina, age 53, of Galloway, OH, was welcomed into the arms of Our Savior, Tuesday, April 23, 2020 after an extended battle with cancer. He was a precious husband, father & best friend. Most importantly, he was a child of God who knew and trusted in God's promises.
Preceded in death by his loving mother & father; Lois Ann and Anthony J. Catalfina, mother-in-law; Billie D. Conkel, brother-in-law, Aaron Conkel.
Marc is survived by his wife; Becci Catalfina, daughter; Kaitlyn Ann Catalfina, sister; Kelly L. (Chuck) Williamson, nephews; Vinnie, Trent (Kara) and Deric Williamson; father-in-law, Howard E. Conkel; sister-in-law, April (Barry) Bryant; nephews, Isaac and Luke; nieces, Kaylee Phelan & Olivia Prosek; as well as special extended family and many cherished & faithful friends.
Marc grew up in Grove City, Ohio and was a graduate of Westland High School. He was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye & Browns fan, not to mention a lover of all things sports related. He was a co-owner of Josie's Hilltop Pizza and loved his job as a Realtor where he was able to help countless special clients find a home in which to raise their families.
Marc and Becci were married for nearly 27 years. His daughter, Kaity Ann, was his special Angel Girl whom he loved and adored with all of his heart. He spent his life ensuring that "His Girls" were loved, cherished and happy. Selflessness would be the
only way to describe our Marc. He will be missed beyond measure, but we rest in the knowledge that he is rejoicing in Heaven with God, Our Father.
Those who knew Marc, remember him as a witty, intelligent and kind man. The most important thing to him was to be a giving friend & family member who thought of everyone else before himself. He was always concerned with showing the people he loved the importance of finding the best in themselves.
In addition to being completely devoted to his family and friends, Marc spent his life dedicated to serving and loving God. He enjoyed being an AWANA leader and working as a VBS director for many years as a member of Canaan Land FWB Church. He fought his battle with cancer through faith and the strength of his Savior, Jesus Christ. His total trust in God was an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved him.
It is impossible with mere words, to fully express how deeply Marc was loved, admired and respected by everyone he knew and cherished. The world is a better place because Marc Catalfina left his imprint of goodness, selflessness and living examples of love on us all. We rejoice in knowing that he is now in the arms of Jesus, with a new body, praising our Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be held at a later date when his loved ones can safely meet together to celebrate Marc's life here on earth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canaan Land FWB Building Fund (2777 Gantz Rd, Grove City, Ohio 43123)or The Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer Foundation (https://cholangiocarcinoma.org/).
