Marcia Jo
Alexander
Nov 1, 1941 — Aug 3, 2026
Marcia Jo Alexander (née Whitesel), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026. Born on November 1, 1941, at her family farm in Union City, Ohio, Marcia lived a life defined by warmth, devotion to her family, and a deep Christian faith that guided her every step.
Marcia was reunited in rest with her cherished husband, Richard L. Alexander, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2024. Together, they built a beautiful, faith-filled life grounded in love, laughter, and family.
In her last years, Marcia made her home at Cherry Blossom Retirement Community in Columbus. Her time there was filled with extraordinary care and comfort, with an incredibly loving staff who became an extended family to her. In her final days, the Mt. Carmel Hospice team served as a pivotal part of her care, offering compassionate support, dignity, and peace. The family extends their deepest thank you to the Hospice team and the Staff at Cherry Blossom for their incredible guidance, dedication, and comfort during this time.
Above all, Marcia's greatest pride and joy was her family, whom she loved with the heart of a faithful servant. She was a devoted and loving mother to her three children: Kelli A. Kermath (and husband John), Richard C. Alexander (and wife Carol), and Julie A. Horn (and husband Jack).
Her legacy of faith and love continues through her five grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her life: Richard D. Alexander (and wife Eileen), Robert W. Alexander, Natalie A. Horn, Alexander D. Kermath, and John A. Horn. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lainey Alexander and Jacquelyn Alexander, who added a special sparkle to her later years.
While her family grieves her passing, they do so with the hope found in Jesus Christ and the promise of the resurrection for those who belong to Him. Marcia will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, her trusting faith in God, and the deep love she showed to everyone around her. She leaves behind a family grateful for her guidance and forever touched by her memory.
