It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcia Ann Blain, age 72, on January 17, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.

Marcia, also lovingly known as Toni or Marci, was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, on January 9, 1954, to Mary and Paul Blain. She graduated from St. Francis DeSales in 1972. The very next day, she enlisted in the United States Army. After basic training, she was stationed in Augsburg, Germany, for two years during the Vietnam War, where she served as a high-security Morse code specialist. Her years of service in the Army were a source of pride, and she carried that strength and discipline with her always.

After leaving the military, Marcia continued to serve others as a dedicated and hardworking server, always offering a friendly smile, until her retirement in 2024.

Marcia loved her family more than anything. She supported everything her family was passionate about and cheered them on in every endeavor.

As a mother, she worked hard to provide the best life she could for her children, instilling strong values and teaching them to be independent thinkers. She was always there in their time of need. She loved taking her children to the circus and rodeos, going to concerts with her daughter, and watching wrestling with her son and his friends. Marcia always kept her door open to their friends, treating everyone like family.

As a grandmother, she treasured every moment with her grandchildren—playing dolls and games, reading together, relaxing, or watching movies. She loved when the whole family gathered for a home-cooked meal and a movie. Though she didn't go out often, when she did it was to support her grandchildren's accomplishments. She attended gymnastics, tap, jazz, and ballet recitals, cheerleading events, birthday parties, and other milestones. She was especially thrilled to see her first granddaughter have a baby and cherished every visit with her great-grandson as he reached his milestones. Marcia also adored dogs and happily dogsat her beloved granddogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Theodore Blain. She is survived by her brother, Paul Blain Jr.; her son, Jeremy (Jennifer) Young; her daughter, Kathleen Blain (Tony Squadrani); her granddaughters, Jaylin and Jasmine Young, and Carys Jones; her grandsons, TJ, Ethan, and Gabriel Squadrani; and her great-grandson, Preston Young-Vargas.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but she will live on forever in our hearts and minds. Rest in heaven, Mom. Thank you for being you. We will always love you.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at the O.R. WOODYARD Co. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43207. Burial will follow on Wednesday at 12:00 PM for a graveside committal service at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave., Columbus, OH 43223.
