Marion Matthew
Cramblit
Oct 4, 1967 — Aug 18, 2026
Marion Matthew "Matt" Cramblit, 58, of Obetz, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at OhioHealth Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born October 4, 1967, Matt was a longtime resident of Obetz and a proud member of the community he called home. He graduated from Hamilton Township High School, attended The Ohio State University, and later earned his Master's Degree in Finance from Rockhurst University. He devoted many years of his career to serving the City of Obetz as its Finance Director, a role he took great pride in and one that allowed him to serve his community faithfully.
Matt cared deeply about the people in his life. He was generous with his time, always willing to lend a listening ear, and was the kind of person his friends and family knew they could count on. Many of his friendships spanned decades, including friendships that began as far back as elementary school. He treasured those lifelong friendships and the many memories they shared.
An avid outdoorsman, Matt especially loved fly fishing. Each fall, he looked forward to trips to a cabin in Pennsylvania with his longtime fishing buddies, where the fishing was only part of what made those trips special. He leaves behind best friends, Dick (Karen) Colwell, Nick (Heather) Zerbi, and Rod (Stacie) Davisson.
He also loved traveling with his family, making memories together in places such as Myrtle Beach, Tennessee, and the Outer Banks.
Matt was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan and took great pride in cheering on his teams. He was also a devoted animal lover and leaves behind his beloved dogs, Bella, Bane, and Bosa.
Matt was a man who valued friendship, community, family, and the simple moments that became lasting memories. His generosity, loyalty, and willingness to always be there for those he loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Matt is survived by his wife, Tammy Cramblit; daughters, Stephany (Philip) Roseberry and Jessie Kitchen; father, Marion Cramblit; brothers, Mark (Tammie) Cramblit and John (Denise) Cramblit; sister, Crystal (Kenneth) Hall; and nieces and nephews, Shaun (Jennifer) Cramblit, Caroline Cramblit, Kenneth Hall, Blake Hall, Brooke Hall, and Aiden Cramblit.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Crabtree Cramblit and sister, Rhonda Cramblit.
Matt's life will be remembered not only for the work he did and the community he served, but for the countless friendships he built, the adventures he shared, and the people and animals he loved along the way.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ush and his medical team at The James.
Friends and family may gather on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Pastor Tim Ross will officiate. Interment will follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
