Obituary

Marshall "Marty" Hutchinson Sr., a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, age 78 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 15, 2025. He was born May 1, 1947, in Stoutsville, Ohio to the late Russell "Doc" Hutchinson and Rissie Marshall and was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School class of 1965. He was married on February 13, 1972, to Nola Addy Hillard. At the age of 19, Marshall enlisted into the United States Air Force. He valued his 33 years of service highly and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. As part of this service, he deployed to Vietnam and Desert Storm, obtaining the following medals throughout his service: Meritorious Service, Air, Achievement, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Vietnam Service, Southwest Asia Service, Republic of Vietnam Campaign, and Kuwait Liberation Medals. Marshall is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years Nola Hutchinson; daughters Sherry (Ronnie) Wooton and Kristina Thomas; brothers Russell, Elmer, James, Charles, Thomas, and Donnie; sisters, Genevieve, Rose and Betty. Marshall is survived by his son, Marshall (Jaymi) Hutchinson Jr and his support animal, Sparky; grandsons Russell Hutchinson and David Wooten, granddaughters Melessa and Heather Wooten, Tara Thomas, and Nicole (Thomas) Haun; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jayden, Brooklynn, Meleaha, Chase, Cayla, Damian, and Blake; great-great-grandchildren Kashton and Phoenix; the Texas Roadhouse family and many other dear friends and family. A service honoring the life of Marshall will be held at O.R. Woodyard Co. Funeral & Cremation Services-South, 1346 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43207 for the viewing on Sunday November 23, 2025, from 2:00-5:00 pm and the funeral on Monday November 24, 2025, at 10:30 am. Pastor Steve Dunn officiating. Marshall will be buried at Obetz Cemetery, 4455 Groveport Rd, Obetz, Ohio 43207 immediately following the funeral, family and friends are welcome to join.
