Mary Martha Fultz Butterbaugh of Lithopolis Ohio, born April 3, 1947, in Middleport, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2026, with family and friends by her side, after a courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer. Her life was a testament to strength, determination, and love, qualities that endeared her to everyone she met.

Mary was the daughter of Henry T. Fultz and Bessie Graves Fultz, who predeceased her, along with her brothers John, William, Henry, James, and Paul (Mick). She is fondly remembered by her surviving siblings, Ronald Fultz and Sandra Fultz Brown, who shared countless memories with her during her lifetime.

In 1964, she married Ralph Leonard Butterbaugh, with whom she had three daughters: Shelby Woodard, Teresa (John) Ferebee, and Melissa (Wayne) Yutzy. Although Mary and Ralph later divorced, she continued to embrace her role as a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her seven treasured grandchildren—John (Sarah) Woodard, Michael Woodard, Brandon Butterbaugh, Dillon (Flor) Eppich, Tyler Eppich, Paul Ferebee, and Mary Ferebee—and nine great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mary also welcomed into her heart three bonus children from her ex-husband's second marriage: son Ralph L. Butterbaugh Jr. and twin daughters Tara (Douglas) Cameron and Farrah (Steve) Webb. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds.

Mary's professional journey spanned several decades in the field of electronic assembly, where she began her career at Ametek Solid State Controls in the 1970s. She later joined Lewis Electronics in the 1990s and eventually retired from Pinnacle Data Systems - PDSI in 2005. Her colleagues admired her dedication and the precision she brought to her work.

Beyond her career, Mary had a zest for life and a variety of hobbies. In her younger days, She enjoyed bowling at Amos Lanes and camping at Deer Creek State Park with her brothers and extended family, relishing the simple pleasures of nature and camaraderie. Her love for Bingo was legendary, often sharing an evening of laughter and excitement with her best friend and Bingo buddy, Helga Lee "Rainy." Mary also had a passion for jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, and handheld video games. Her fondness for Elvis Presley and Tweety Bird brought a playful spirit to her life.

Mary's strong, determined, and finicky personality was balanced by her warm smile and twinkling eyes. She was not without fault. She could be quick tempered at times and when she was, you knew it. She was a friend to many, always ready to lend a hand when she could. Her generous spirit and unwavering love for her family left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

A cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Pink Ribbon Good at pinkribbongood.org in her honor.
