Mary K. Lehman age 93 of Columbus passed away September 20, 2023. She was born September 19, 1930, to her parents, the late Walter and Lucille Smith Jones in Wheelersburg, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Lehman; son, Michael Sargent; stepchildren, Sandy Lehman and Barbara Lehman; sister, Jennie Decamp. Mary retired with 34 years, from The Department of Defense; Military Examination and Processing Station. Mary liked to read and crochet; she played the piano and played for several Churches over her lifetime, she called Genoa Baptist her home church where she served many ministries. Mary loved to travel, in fact she was a Ferris Wheel lover and would travel across the country to see and ride the largest and most famous Ferris wheels. She traveled to Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Niagara Falls, Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, Orlando and Washington DC simply to ride the wheels. Her family calls her a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who always showed her leadership ways by her actions and with 93 years she earned the place of being Matriarch of the family. Mary volunteered at Riverside Hospital for many years. She was passionate about her love for God and would say, His Grace is sufficient for me. Mary is survived by her son, Richard Sargent of Ashville; stepchildren; Dallas (Sharon) Lehman of Sunbury, Patricia (Jim) Hiser of Gahanna, Donna (Jack) Mager of Pineville, SC, Dale Lehman of Marysville and Dennis Lehman of Gahanna; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a very large extended family. Friends and family are celebrating Mary Lehman's life at The Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Rd, Westerville OH 43082 Tuesday September 26, 2023, where a visitation will start at 10 AM and funeral service at 11 AM Pastor Wayne Booth officiating. Interment to follow at Burnside Cemetery.
