Mary Smith, age 81, passed away at Mt Carmel Medical Center in Grove City, Ohio on February 27th, 2024. She was born on January 9th, 1943 in Hannah Kentucky to the late Willie and Louise Salyer. Mary lived in Columbus and worked at Public Employee Retirement Systems of Ohio where she later retired.

Mary was a dog lover and had numerous ones during her lifetime. She loved her church and was a member of Pathway Apostolic Church. Mary enjoyed crocheting and baking and had a large sweet tooth. Mary also spent time in her yard tending to her plants outside her home. Mary was loved by many and her smile will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joe of 41 years, Brother, Rev Raymond L Salyer, parents Willie and Louise Salyer.

Mary is survived by her Sister in-law Lilian Salyer and Beckie Fisher, Nieces Valarie and husband John Kesel, Kimberly-Pettis and husband Eric King. Great nieces and nephews Mikayla and Kyle Kesel, Jessica and husband Aaron Meese, Justin Pettis and wife Caitlin, Great Great niece and nephew Colton and Brittany Pettis.

Friends and family may call from 5PM -8 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the O.R. WOODYARD Co. 1346 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43207. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the O.R. WOODYARD Co., burial will follow at Alton Cemetery.
