Mary Evelyn
Worrix
Jul 9, 1949 — Sep 6, 2024
Mary Evelyn Worrix left this world on September 6, 2024 to take her heavenly flight. Mary Evelyn was born July 9, 1949 in Vinton County Ohio to the late John and Hettie Worrix. One of fifteen children she developed a deep love and devotion for her family. While she was not blessed with her own children, she showered her nieces and nephews with love. Always enjoying the time they got to spend together. The love they had for her shined bright as they traveled from all over. Those that could not make it, made sure to call her so they could have one more moment with Mary Evelyn. This love was shown even more through the testimonials posted to social media.
Mary Evelyn graduated from Marion-Franklin high school with the class of 1969. After graduation she began working for New Field publication, from July of 1969 to August of 1992. Following the closing of New Field publication, she accepted a job with Central Benefits Insurance, from April of 1993 to April of 2004. She then moved on to work with American Commerce Insurance where she worked until retirement in 2012.
Mary Evelyn enjoyed many creative activities, which won her a scholarship to an art school in New York that she respectfully declined because it would take her away from her family. She continued utilizing her artistic skills until her death. She was the keeper of the families memories through her photography skills. Our entire family has benefited from the beautiful portraits that now hang upon our walls. She also loved sharing the beauty of her flower garden.
Those left to mourn her death are brother Lonnie Worrix, Sisters Laura Alice (Mike) Richardson, Leah Ann (Dan) Ewald and Loretta (Dave) Bradley, Sister in Laws Valceeda Worrix, Belma Worrix, Brother in Law Jim Bates, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.
On August 10, 2014 Mary Evelyn was baptized into the Columbus Primitive Baptist Church. She was very proud to publicly acknowledge her membership with the church and fully embraced her Christian walk. We celebrate the fact that we know she is in heaven, enjoying her reunion with her Mommy and Daddy. Along with her brothers: John David, William Grant, Harold Edward (Pat), Bradley Joe (Nora), Bobby Gene (Bev), and Arthur Dale and sisters: Polly Pierce (Dee), Lola Barney (Willis), Thursie Bates, and baby sister who died at birth.
The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care given to Mary Evelyn by the Norwich Springs Health Campus in Hilliard Ohio. Their dedication to her and support to us was very heartfelt and appreciated.
