Maryann Youngman, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Maryann was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 27, 1947. Graduate of South High School, Class of 1965. She retired from the Columbus Convention Center. She was a volunteer with the Hamilton Elementary School PTO and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of The Grove Church in Groveport, Ohio. Maryann is preceded in death by her parents, William F. Sr. and Maryann (Held) Rice; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Lucille (Oberkonz) Youngman; brother-in-law, Robert Oberkonz. She is survived by her husband, James E. "Sam" Youngman, who she married March 23, 1974; daughters, Janet and Brenda (Steve) Kramer; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Dawn Lee; brother, William Jr. (Mel) Rice; sister-in-law, Toni (Mack) Gillenwater; nieces; nephews; Natalie and Nick, who Maryann considered her honorary grandchildren. Visitation for Maryann will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport, OH. Pastor Steve Snider officiating. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The Grove Church in her memory.
