MaryAnna Ashley, 68, of Groveport, Ohio departed this life on Thursday, October 8th after a long battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home with her family gathered around her bedside. MaryAnna was preceded in death by her husband, James Ashley, her parents Joe and Pauline Surgoine, sisters Peggy Rayburn and Lewanna Gail Mullins, and great niece Kasey Boyer. She is survived by her sisters Lola Heckathorn, who resided with MaryAnna for several years, Donna Sparks-Thomas (Steve), also of Groveport, and one brother Wilson Bert Surgoine (Brenda) of Bloomfield, NY. In addition she was deeply loved by her nieces, nephews and many friends. She was a long time employee of Coca Cola bottling company and worked at Norms Market in Groveport, Ohio. MaryAnna loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing games of all types, and working in her flower beds. She was a 1969 graduate of Chapmanville High School, Chapmanville Wv and was dearly loved by her classmates. Per her request, there will be no viewing or funeral services. She will be laid to rest at Glen Rest cemetery in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Tuesday, October 13th, exactly one week shy of her 69th birthday.
