Michael Joe James, age 71, was called home to be with the Lord; Sunrise January 8th, 1950 Sunset September 8th, 2021. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Hollis James and mother, Pauline (Shaffins) James. Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie (Leach) James; daughter and end of life caregiver, Nicole M. James (Thompson); grandchildren, Kyra and Cody Thompson; brothers, Eddie (Phillis) James and Kenny (Sharon) James; nieces, Sharon, Lysa, Carolyn and Marilyn; nephew, Ronnie and baby cousin, Robert J. Peaden; cousin, Jill (Ron) Guthrie; and special fur baby, Fluffy (Fluffers) James. Michael was a devoted and faithful husband that was proud to be married for 45 years. Michael was a proud father and grandfather that loved his family. Michael was a very humble, honest man with many accomplishments in life. Michael was a born again Christian that served his church (Good Shephard Community on Obetz Rd. for 35 years. Michael was an avid gun collector; skilled gun smith, firearms expert, skilled re-loader and licensed Federal Firearms Dealer. Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting range and taking short trips exploring Ohio. Michael was a skilled tradesman, mechanic, interior-exterior painter. Michael was an independent contractor for 20 years until he retired. Michael died after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael spent the last four months at his home under the care of his daughter and his Ohio Health Hospice Team. The family would like to express our gratitude to Ohio Health Hospice for their professional, compassionate care that they gave to dad and allowed him to die with respect and dignity.
