Mr. Mingren Huang was born on November 8, 1932, in Jianli, Hubei, a fertile region known as a "land of fish and rice." He was the third of eight children, with four brothers and three sisters. In his hometown, younger relatives respectfully called him "Third Uncle." In the United States, he was affectionately known among the Chinese Christian community as "Uncle Huang."

Mr. Huang grew up in an extremely turbulent era. His childhood and youth were marked by poverty, natural disasters, and war. As a teenager, he worked alongside his brothers in coal mines to help support his family. At the age of nineteen, during the Korean War, he courageously volunteered for the Army, undeterred by hardship or death. Just as he was preparing to enter the battlefield, the war ended, and his life was spared. During his time in the military, he received both military training and general education. Gifted, diligent, and disciplined, he soon rose from student to instructor, and from soldier to officer.

In the political climate of the time, Mr. Huang's career advancement was hindered due to an "overseas connection"—his eldest brother had gone to Taiwan with the Nationalist government. In 1963, he transferred to the Hubei Agricultural Machinery Company, where he served in management. There he fully demonstrated his administrative talent. The company's machinery warehouse, with more than two hundred employees, had long suffered from disorder and inefficiency. Upon assuming leadership, Mr. Huang established a new management system, enforcing clear rules, fair rewards and discipline, and strict integrity. In his own words, he sought to "ensure honest people do not suffer losses, and cunning people do not take advantage." His conscientious work ethic, high standards, and upright character earned him deep respect and high praise throughout the organization.

In 1996, Mr. Huang and his wife, Mrs. Wang, came to Kansas to assist their second daughter after childbirth. Soon after arriving in the United States, they encountered the Christian gospel. Friends from a Chinese Bible study group invited them to a Christian retreat. Ever since then, Mr. Huang began reading the Bible from cover to cover, carefully recording his questions. He experienced firsthand the warm, selfless love of Christians from both Chinese and American churches in the United States. After receiving thoughtful answers to his questions from an American pastor, he joyfully acknowledged his need for salvation and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

In 1999, Mr. Huang and Mrs. Wang moved to Ohio and joined the worship and fellowship of the Columbus Chinese Christian Church. From the beginning of their life in America, the church became their spiritual home. As Christians, they faithfully attended Friday Bible studies, Sunday worship, and various church activities. Their life in the United States was rich, fulfilling, and meaningful. They never felt lonely or bored. They fell in love with this land, the brothers and sisters in the church, and the big family of God's kingdom. They often expressed heartfelt gratitude for the blessings they received—truly, "the most beautiful blessing of a lifetime."

As a Christian, Mr. Huang cultivated humility and actively served in church. He was a regular presence in Sunday school, fellowship gatherings, and small groups. His homemade tofu pudding became a beloved highlight of fellowship potlucks. Nearly every year, he and Mrs. Wang returned to China to share the gospel with relatives and friends. He personally hosted gatherings for former colleagues, old friends, and family members, using his own resources to proclaim the good news of God's kingdom. Even after suffering a stroke at age ninety, he insisted on returning to China one final time to share the gospel. He fulfilled that wish. Before his stroke, he also traveled to Europe with his daughter and granddaughter, celebrating his 90th birthday in London and Paris.

Throughout his life, Mr. Huang accomplished what he sought and needed to do. He lived without regret. What he could do, he pursued with decisiveness and vigor. What he could not do, he entrusted to the Lord, following Jesus' teaching not to worry about tomorrow.

On August 12, 2026, with a gentle sigh, Mr. Huang laid down the burdens of earthly life. Free from illness, pain, and sorrow, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his daughters. In his final moments, he may have silently prayed, "Lord Jesus, I trust in You. Receive my soul and lead me into eternal life." Thanks be to God—how blessed are His children.

Mr. Huang is lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his steadfast character, generous heart, and enduring faith. His legacy of integrity, devotion, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
