Lewis Richard Purtee; age 68, born July 31, 1942 in Columbus, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Thursday, October 21, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Deborah (Scarberry); his children, Pamela Purtee (Marty) Gillman, Elizabeth (Greg) Collins, Rebecca Purtee, Christopher Purtee; his step-sons, David Rotruck and Chad (Jennifer) Rotruck; grandchildren, Lindsay and Aaron Collins, Nicholas Boehm, Cassidy and Kyle Gillman, Gage Harker, Stacia Rotruck and Samantha Baker; and great-grandson Carter Collins; his mother Dorothy Hallock; brother, Warren (Juanita) Purtee; and sister, Cheryl Purtee. Preceded in death by his father Paul Purtee and sister Sandra Meade. Lewis lived his entire life in Columbus and graduated from South High School, class of 1960. At the time of his death he worked for Sunbelt Rentals and enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. Family will receive friends Monday, October 25 between 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the O. R.
