Nancy Lou Phillips, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio was surrounded by family when she went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2021. Born to the late Delbert W. Smith and Nancy Jane (West) on September 3, 1939. Nancy was preceded in death by her children Cindy (Bryan) Wesney, Harold Phillips Jr., Emory Phillips. Survived by her loving daughter Alisha Phillips (Jerry DeLong); sisters, Darlene West, Arlene Holley; grandchildren, Shannon Burlile (Ashley), Melissa (Jason) Hinds, Joshua Dutcher, Crystal DeLong (Ryan), Ashley (Dan) Fraley; great-grandchildren, Jacob Burlile, Kayla Burlile, Kylee Burlile, Hayley Hinds, Caitlyn Hinds, Bradley Motter, Dominik Swisher, Abagale Swisher, Kaylee DeLong, Luna Fraley; great-great grandchildren, Kaylena Burlile, Kinslee Burlile. Family was everything to Nancy. She cherished the holidays and other special events when she could be with her whole family, especially her grandkids - she was famous with her grandkids for making the best pancakes! Nancy was a member of the VFW and enjoyed volunteering. In her down time she would work crossword puzzles, watch tv and would always have a Diet Pepsi in hand. Nancy loved Ohio State football - she was over the moon when her grandson took her to her first game when she was in her 70's. She often talked about what a great time she had. Nancy was well known in her community and will be greatly missed by many, including her dog Molly, who was right by her side until the end. The visitation will be on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 10-12pm at O.R. Woodyard 1346 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43207. The funeral service will begin at 12pm.
