Nicholas "Nick" Demetrios Fallieras, passed away on the eve of his favorite holiday December 24, 2020 at the age of 86 in his home surrounded by his family. Nick was born in Samos, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1952 at the age of 17 as an orphan of WWII. Shortly thereafter, he met and fell in love with Mary, his beloved wife of 57 years in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Theirs was a love affair that spanned more than a half of a century and an ocean. While life circumstances separated them for nearly a decade, they met again unexpectedly at a bus stop in Athens, Greece. And the rest was history. Nick loved his family passionately, and anyone who met him knew it. He worked hard for the sole purpose of giving his family everything he never had. He was a generous man - he helped many and he gave to anyone. Never did you leave Nick's presence without something in your hand. His love of people was evident in how he engaged. He might enter a room a stranger, but he always left a friend. Nick is best remembered by the many kind and colorful stories people have shared. He is survived by his wife Mary; son James (Kristin) Fallieras; daughter, Anna Fallieras (Will Tucker); three grandchildren, Sophia, Elie and Niko. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31 from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 555 N. High Street.
