Opha Eugene "Gene" Stone, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2015. Retired from Krogers Transportation, and Dublin Schools. He enjoyed his NASCAR racing many years; belonged to the GTO Club. Preceded in death by parents Herman and Ruth Stone of Leon, WV., sons Robert and Troy Stone. Survived by wife of 61 years, Nancy Stone; son, Ron (Valerie) Stone of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Kathy (Ray) Parker of Galloway, Oh., Carolyn (Chuck) Thomas of Logan, Ohio; grandchilden, Bobby, Chuckie (Mindy), Danny, Craig, Sara and Whitney; four great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Anna) Stone; sisters, Marcella Thomas, Linda (Howard) Martin; many other dear friends, neighbors and family. He will be missed by his family. He was the Best! Friends may call at the O. R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday in West Virginia, at the Smith Church and Cemetery, friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service at 1 p.m. with interment to follow.
