Pamela Jackerson Beeler, age 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 30, 2024, after a nearly two-year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria (Ross) Jackerson; father, Arnold Jackerson; mother-in-law, Sally (Thorson) Beeler; and father-in-law, John W. Beeler. Pam is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack Beeler; sons, Nate and Adam; and grandchildren, Max, Ruby, and Vera; four siblings; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country.

Born November 22, 1952, in Newport, RI, Pam graduated with honors from the Duke University School of Nursing in 1974. She earned a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1976 before moving to Columbus and embarking on a nearly 50-year career in health care. For 24 years, she was a public health nurse with the Columbus Health Department. Upon her retirement from that role, she was a school nurse in the Columbus Public Schools and at St. Michael's Elementary School in Worthington. She later held positions in occupational health at The Ohio State University and in patient education at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Pam loved helping people — especially her family and friends. She was an avid cook, gardener, book-clubber, and traveler. She shared adventures with her family that took them around the world to destinations like Alaska, Africa, Japan, Hawaii, South America, and many more. A lifelong learner, after becoming fluent in French in her 20s, she learned to speak Spanish in her 60s.

Pam's passion for people, learning, and art fueled her longtime support of the Columbus arts community. She filled her life with vibrant art and a community of friends.

She was practical, energetic, conscientious, and big-hearted. She loved to laugh, even when her grandchildren managed to beat her at card games. Pam always looked forward to attending her kids' and grandkids' events and performances; she was her loved ones' biggest cheerleader.

There will be a memorial service for Pam at Noon on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Temple Israel, 3100 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her memory to the Nationwide Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Program, Columbus College of Art & Design, the Columbus Museum of Art, or the Franklin Park Conservatory.
