Patricia was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio where she attended and graduated from South High School. Shortly after high school she traveled a bit, and returned home and began her working career with IBM, and from there she moved to Columbus Ohio, where she resided until her last days.

Pat began her life and career in Columbus, Ohio. She landed a job at DSCC, where she worked and retired from after 32 years of service. Mom was an active woman of life. She was very active in her home Church Union Grove Baptist, and was a sister of the Eastern Star, and her many roles she held over the years in her WIGS (Women in Government) organization that she was a part of for twenty plus years.

Pat enjoyed life, including traveling, music, art, gardening, pruning her flowers, shopping, cooking, eating good food, she loved her some sweets, nuts, sweet potatoes, and Ice cream. and so dear to her heart was her family! Mom had an enormous heart and the kindness spirit; she had a wonderful sense of humor; she was generous, loyal, strong, and incredibly wise. She was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with friends and family. She genuinely loved each of them – and if you knew her, you knew it and felt it

Mom never complained about her situation or condition, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and a praying heart. Patricia was a beautiful woman inside and out, and she Loved the Lord our Father and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. We prayed together every single day, and you would always hear momma call his name, Jesus!

Her smile would light up the whole room, she cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind and enthusiastic and made an impact on many lives.

Pat's greatest joys and happiness came from the love and presence of her great grandchildren. To be a witness to the joy they brought to her was such a blessing to see. To sum it all up…. Patricia, Pat, Aunt Patsy, grandma, memaw, mother, mom, Ms. Pat, Pat pat.  UNCONDITONAL LOVE!

From son, Byron Todd Cartwright,

Patricia Ann Gaines Cartwright Reynolds instilled a lot of values in me during my lifetime. The four that mean a lot to me now in my life, our family, caring, giving and spirit of life. She told me at a young age to never give up on family no matter what. She was the most caring and giving woman I have ever known in my life. She would and did give her last dollar to a stranger and to every family member that she gave birth to. The most ironic thing of that is she never expected anything in return. My mother was bedridden for her last four years of life and had more spirit of life than anyone on this earth. I pray for that spirit of life that she instilled in me during her final years on this earth. To the glory of God, I am so blessed that I had her as a mother. God bless and thank you all for listening.

Patricia memorial services will be held on January 22nd, 2024, from 1pm – 3pm at O.R. Woodyard Co. 1346 S. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43207.
