Obituary

Peggy Jo Wood, 79, of Huntington, West Virginia, entered her heavenly home on December 12, 2025. Born August 14, 1946, Peggy was known for her unwavering faith, joyful spirit, and deep love for her family and community.

A graduate of Huntington High School, she continued her education at Marshall University and dedicated 46 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service. Peggy was a proud member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir. She also enjoyed over 30 years of bowling league participation and cherished playing cards—especially Spades and Bid Whist—with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Mary Wood; her siblings—Pete Wood, Mildred Mason, Douglas Wood II, Norma Fowlkes, Rosalee Smith, Hilda Wood—and her lifelong partner, Michael Coleman.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jasmine (Matthew); her grandchildren, Azalea, Naomi, Levi, and Shailynn Hazelwood; her twin sister, Patty Rhymes; her brother, Ralph Wood (Marsha); as well as numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Peggy's legacy of faith, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Visitation scheduled for Monday, DECEMBER 22 from 11 AM TO 1 PM AT Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home in Reynoldsburg, with the service beginning at 1 PM.
