Obituary

PHILIP J. KEINTZ

March 19, 1954 - December 17, 2025

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Carrying on the Family History of Stone Masons, he was the 4th generation and expanded as a self-taught, master craftsman in home additions, remodeling, carpentry, historic restoration, etc. Coming from a long history in German Village, he carried the Kientz name, legacy, and heritage with pride and love. Everyone knew him and he never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone about anything. A true South Ender. He graduated from South High School in 1972 and attended Hocking Tech with a 2-year degree, from 1977 to 1979 in recreation and wildlife. He met his wife, Ann, while in college, who also shares the same Degree. Sharing the love for nature and wildlife, it was a perfect match. They were married September 15, 1979. Married for 46 years, they had two sons, Erik and Jason. His love for the outdoors was passed down teaching them about fishing and hunting at the family cabin. He cherished the cabin where many memories of family and friends were made. From all of this stems his avid interest in guns, knives, tools and Indian relics. He was extremely artistic, another family trait he cherished and passed down from generation to generation. He loved his family passionately and unconditionally. After a courageous, 6-year battle with cancer he was ready to go home to be with his Lord and Savior and Heavenly family, He will be missed tremendously by his many friends, family, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great niece and nephew. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Philip at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH on Monday December 29, 2025 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to a charity of your choice.
