On Sunday, January 12, 2025, Phyllis Mader nee Prise passed away at the age of 87. Phyllis was born 10/25/1937 in Scioto County, Ohio, to Russell Prise and Matilda Horsley. She grew up in New Boston with her much loved sisters Wanda and Helen.

In June of 1956 she married John Mader. Together they raised three children: John Jr., Thomas, and Edward.

Phyllis was a woman of strong Christian faith. She was a very kind and generous person. Phyllis had a lovely singing voice and enchanted the grandchildren with her yodeling. She loved her trips to Las Vegas with her sisters and playing the slot machines. Phyllis was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She most loved spending time with her family and friends, she was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by us all. Phyllis was truly one in a million!

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Matilda, her sisters Wanda and Helen, her husband John, daughter Kimberly, and son Mark.

Phyllis is survived by her sons: John (Kim) Mader, Thomas (Sue) Mader, and Edward (Jimelle) Mader. Grandchildren: Christopher Mader, Jonathan Mader, Kayleigh Mader, Jacob (Kori) Mader, Jesse (Ashley) Mader, and Matthew Mader. Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Raelynn, and Thompson. Many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 AM - 1 PM at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2025, with the service to follow at 1 PM. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St, Columbus, Ohio, 43213. Pastor Mike Brue officiating.
