Ramona Lavonne
Bussard
Nov 8, 1964 — Jan 3, 2024
Ramona Bussard, 59, of Canal Winchester, slipped free of her earthly bonds and passed away peacefully on January 3, with family members lovingly by her side. Ramona was born on November 8 (her father's birthday), 1964, to the late Gene Bussard and Wanda Bussard. She graduated from Groveport-Madison High School in 1983 and Wittenberg University in 1987. Ramona was most recently employed as an Account Specialist Mentor at Fortuity, where she was an integral part of their employee engagement efforts. She was an avid fan of the Columbus Crew soccer team and a season ticket holder since 1998. She was also a huge supporter of her brother and nephews' various musical endeavors. Ramona was a faithful member of Madison Christian Church, where she ran slides for worship on Sunday mornings and was a long-time part of the youth ministry; she loved her Seekers kids! She was a loving mom to her cats Gino and Charlie. Ramona loved to travel. She will always be remembered as someone who made cookies, cakes, cheesecakes, and desserts of every kind for friends, family, coworkers, youth events at church and for the family's friends in the band Sanctus Real any time that they were in Columbus. Left behind to cherish Ramona's memory are her mother Wanda Bussard; her brother and sister-in-law Ken and Pam Bussard; nephews K.C. and Brett (Jennifer) Bussard and niece Marissa (Zach) Zasadzinski; great-niece and great-nephew Nelle and Keller Bussard; numerous cousins locally and in Florida and Nebraska and dear friend Tracy Stillion. Ramona was preceded in death by her father, Gene Bussard; grandparents George and Lucia Carr and Marie Weisfoot and precious aunts Joyce Morehart and Gayle Carr. Calling hours for Ramona will be Sunday, January 7, 2:00-5:00pm at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home (587 Main St, Groveport OH, 43125) and the funeral will be held Monday, January 8 at 11:00am (visitation one hour prior) at Madison Christian Church (3565 Bixby Rd, Groveport OH, 43125) with a family graveside service to be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Tracy and JD Stillion for all that they did for Ramona; the doctors and nurses in the Mt. Carmel East ICU, who provided Ramona with extraordinary and compassionate care in her last days; all of our and Ramona's friends, family and co-workers who have encouraged, supported and lifted us up through your texts, messages, emails, phone calls, etc. and Rev. Paul Barnes for his pastoral care, prayers and steadfast presence. We mourn because Ramona is no longer with us in this life, but we rejoice in the fact that she has entered into eternity with our God and with family members who have gone before and take comfort in the faith that we will see her again. It was recently said that if anyone ever heard the words "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" as they entered the kingdom of heaven, it was certainly her!
