Raymond Lee Lucas "Butch", 75, passed away on July 28, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1951 in Athens, Ohio to Joseph and Clarice "Louise" (Tinkham) Lucas. He was a graduate of Walnut Ridge High School Class of 1970. Butch worked as a Custodian for Hilliard City Schools. Also, he served in the Army defending our country.

He was one who loved to fish, hunt, go riding his ATVs, doing multiple handyman projects, and hanging with his dog Oakley, the big loving yellow lab. Oakley was a very important part of his life: they had their place on the couch beside each other and Oakley enjoyed lots of treats, as well as sitting on the porch with Butch.

Butch had a great sense of humor--sometimes rotten, but he was dependable and selfless with his time and effort for his family and friends. Whenever he called someone, it was: "it's your good lookin" father, brother, or uncle, so whomever he was calling, he was "good lookin" to them! He also used to say that he gave up his height to get his good looks. All in all, Butch was a loving man who cared deeply for his friends and family.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Lucas, Sr. and Clarice "Louise" Lucas. Those who will miss his humor and care are his loving wife of 55 years, Linda (Pennington) Lucas; his children, Rebecca Lucas, Melissa Lucas (fiance Matthew Raymond); grandchildren, Taylor Thomas (Elijah Mehan), Caiden Manning; great grandchildren, Elliot and Emilia Mehan; his siblings, Patricia Drouillard (John), Joseph Lucas Jr., Vicki Meek (Dan), and Teresa Lucas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Funeral service will follow at 1 pm, with the burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, 43213.
