Regina Ann Welch was born on October 14, 1960. She was called to eternal rest suddenly and unexpectedly April 28, 2021 at River Valley medical. Cause of death is Cardio Pulmonary Arrest. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents that raised her Curtis and Florence Welch. Her Mother Shirley Leighner. And by her Step Father Forrest (Jack) Leighner. She is survived by her only child and Daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Welch. And Libby's boyfriend Kyle Ramsey who she would referred to as her "son-in-law". Her younger Sister Brooke Logue who she grew up beside. Her younger brother Dustin Leighner who protected her growing up. Her cousin, good friend, and carer Laura and Roger Welch. Her Nieces Brittany Logue, Madeline Leighner, and Allison Leighner. Her Nephews Joshua Logue and Andrew Leighner. Her Great Nephews Tristin, Tony, and Trevor, Great Nieces Riley Counts, Raelyn Logue, and Janessa Huffman. Also the special little people in her life Jackson, Sophia, Adrian, and Aiden. Regina was a spunky kid growing up in Lithopolis Ohio in the 60s and 70s going to Bloom Carroll schools. She made friends in school that would last her a lifetime. She would be known for being with her dog pooch and her numerous cats at her grandparents house swinging on the front porch swing. She rode her bike all throughout the little town of Lithopolis, known to have fallen in the ditch and needed assistance, taking swimming lessons in the summers and attending the Bloom Presbyterian Church in town singing in the choir. Regina had her dream of being a mom fulfilled on December 23, 1998 when she welcomes what she would call her "Miracle Baby" Elizabeth Ann Welch. She would constantly take pictures of her new baby and never want to put her down. She always had a love for children and was a stay at home babysitter with her good friend/cousin Laura for many years where she met kids/parents that would turn into family. As her daughter grew and got into new things so did Regina. She became a Soccer Mom going to almost all games, cheering loudly for the team and if she wasn't at the game she was at the Bloom Baptist Church being in Awana leader for small children teaching them about God. She helped her daughter in Girl Scouts always wanting to help sell Girl Scout cookies and get into the teaching activities. She learned about all Nintendo video games and computers and play games for hours ,mostly all of the old games. And when she wasn't with her daughter Regina would be with her sister Brooke going to yard sales and driving around or with her best friend Rachel Bell and her husband Brian Bell at their house for a Halloween party or to go to a Bible study together. She would collect M&Ms and Winnie the Pooh items, would never take them out of the box only, for display only. Always out in the garden planting flowers, she would often say she took out all the grass and only plant flowers if she could. Regina continued to enjoy her days with her cat patches in Lithopolis once she has an empty nest. She would often win at bingo at the filling Station in Carroll , visit with Friends, build puzzles, and garden with her Cousin Laura . She moved to Lancaster and was developing a more healthy lifestyle walking more and getting out of the house more than ever. Many people say this was the happiest I've ever seen her. Regina was greatly loved. She was an amazing friend who would never miss a party or get together, she would never forget your birthday and would remind others to send you a card. She was someone who was always up for a board/card game anytime of the day. She would remember every detail of a memory she had a couple decades ago, and thought you would too. She loved to write lists on her yellow notepads, always to be planning ahead. She would plan months and years ahead, always happy to be giving a gift so thought out and always eager she'd get Christmas gifts in February and your birthday half a year before hand. She was stubborn and always wanted things to be just right. She didn't care how people would perceive her and didn't care what people thought of her. She was always true to her friends and her self. A loving Mother, Sister, and Friend she will be missed dearly.
