It is with profound sadness yet immense gratitude for her remarkable life that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Renée Michelle Myers (née Beaugé), on January 6th, 2025, at the age of 94. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 19, 1931, in Yzeure (Moulins), France, Renée was the cherished daughter of Juliette Marie and Nicholas Alphonse Beaugé. Her father's death when she was just five years old shaped her early life, but she always felt blessed to have her mother and two older sisters by her side. Renée grew up in occupied France during WWII, facing hardship, scarcity, and the uncertainty of war. Those years gave her a profound wisdom about life: that less is more, quality matters more than quantity, and that love and family are the only true riches. She carried that wisdom with her always and passed it down generously to those she loved.

Renée met the love of her life, Cecil "George" Myers, while working at the electric company in Moulins, where he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. They married in 1953, beginning a partnership of 68 years filled with devotion, resilience, and enduring love. Together, they raised three daughters and embraced the life of a military family—living in England, France, and the United States. Renée often reminisced about those years, recalling the beauty of lifelong friendships and the richness of memories those brought to their lives.

Though she traveled far, Renée's heart was never far from France. She remained deeply connected to her family there, returning often to visit and keeping alive the bond of home, heritage, and history. She loved sharing those stories with her children and grandchildren, weaving a living history that continues to shape her family's identity today.

At her core, Renée's vocation was her family. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a grandmother who acted as a "second parent," and a great-grandmother who found such joy in her great-grandchildren. She taught us not just how to live, but how to live well—with humility, fortitude, dignity, and joy. You could tell her anything, and she always knew how to listen and to love unconditionally.

Renée had a quiet elegance that was more than style—it was a reflection of her heart. She was classy both in appearance and spirit; graceful and genuine. She embodied the beauty of simplicity. She found great joy in cooking and providing comfort in her French-American cuisine for her family's table. Nothing made her happier than seeing people enjoy what she had prepared—her food was always more than nourishment; it was an expression of her love.

Her wisdom lives on in the countless lessons she left us: that sacrifice for those you love is never wasted, that laughter eases every burden, that true beauty lies in kindness, and that faith and family are the foundation of a good life.

Renée is survived by her daughters Linda (Steven) Chaplin and Loretta (Rocky) Sunday; grandchildren Kristen (Bryan) Baldini and Steven Sunday; and great-grandchildren Joelle Beaugé and Leo George Baldini; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil A. Myers, Jr. (George); her daughter, Brenda Martine Myers; her parents; and her sisters Simone (Andre) Berthomier and Angeline (Louis) Rey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 23rd, 2026 at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1061 S. Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg, with interment to follow at Glen Rest Cemetery. A celebration of Renée's life will take place afterward at the Mgsr. Funk Family Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Renée's memory to Hospice of Central Ohio, whose care and compassion helped her finish her journey with grace.

Your legacy is more than the years you lived—it is the love you gave, the sacrifices you made, and the example you set. You taught us that life is not about what you acquire, but about what you give. You lived with humility, with faith, and with an unwavering love for family. We will carry your legacy, wisdom, and memories in our hearts forever.
