Richard Eugene "Gene" Baker, born June 12, 1929, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.

Known to most simply as Gene, he lived a long life grounded in love, humor, and devotion to family. He was a loving and devoted husband to Jo Ann Baker for over 50 years, a partnership that stood as a testament to enduring commitment and companionship.

Gene was a proud father to his daughters Linda and Terri, and his son Keith. He was also a grandfather to more grandchildren than one could easily count—each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. His legacy lives on through them and the many memories they shared.

He found happiness in life's simple pleasures: watching baseball and sharing jokes—especially the kind that made everyone laugh, including himself. His warmth, humor, and easygoing nature made him not only a beloved family man but also a cherished friend to many.

Gene will be greatly and forever missed by his only surviving child, Terri Peters, and by all of the grandchildren who adored him. His presence, laughter, and love leave a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
