Richard James Crawford, age 94, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019. U. S. Navy WWII Veteran. He was a founding member of Hide-A-Way Hills. He was a Scoutmaster of the Boy's Scouts in Obetz and Hilliard. Richard was a member of the Kiwanis and Lions in the Columbus area. He formerly worked in sales for various companies in Columbus and Lancaster. Served in Atlantic & Pacific theater on USS Eagle-Sub Chaser. Graduated in 1943 from Hamilton Township Highschool. Attended Purdue University in Electrical Engineering. Member of Obetz U.M. C. Was and original member (not a founding member) 1960 of Hide-A-Way Hills Resort. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Eileen; brother, Robert Kipp; parents, Floyd Crawford and Grace Wheeland. Survived by daughters, Denise Crawford and Deborah Rowlett; grandchildren, Whitney, Michael and Christopher Rowlett; great grandchildren, Dimitri and Lillian Rowlett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 14th from 2 pm until time of the funeral service at 5 pm at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME 587 Main Street in Groveport, Ohio.
