We are deeply saddened to share the news that Richard Wilson, age 65, passed away on December 17th, 2025, at his home with his family by his side, after a year-long battle with lung cancer.

Richard was born on May 19th, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Richard and Roberta Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William "Danny" Wilson, and his niece Brooke Wilson.

A licensed plumber in Chicago, Illinois, since 2001, Richard was known by the nickname "P-Trap." He made many great memories traveling the world, including a year he proudly spent working on a U.S. military base in Iraq, and time spent in New York, Chicago, and Thailand. In recent years, he greatly enjoyed beach vacations with his son and grandchildren.

Richard had a passion for collecting gold and silver coins, always checking years and serial numbers for unique finds. He was a dedicated fan of great rock bands like Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Pink Floyd, which he happily listened to at a high volume. He also took great pride in his extensive collection and building of Legos. His favorite day was spent driving down Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, taking in the view, or finding a spot by the water to set up his hammock and enjoy a book or a snooze.

Richard is survived by his only child, Richard (Alysia) Wilson of Commercial Point; his brothers Robert "Douglas" (Ronda) Wilson, Ronald (Yvonne) Wilson, and Donald Wilson; his three grandsons, Xander, Maddox, and Hendrix Wilson of Commercial Point; and his grandpup, Luna Wilson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Chelsie Moore, Stephany Moore, Dillon Rollins, Bradley Wilson, Michael Jones, Jason Wilson, and Justin Wilson, along with Diane Wilson, the mother of his son, who remains part of his family and legacy.

He will also be missed by his close friends in Chicago: Jap, Pauly, and Hicks. Richard spent his last year bravely fighting cancer and building lasting memories with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation with family and friends will be held on December 27th, 2025 at Pfeifer-Woodyard Funeral Home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio starting at 11am, with a memorial service to immediately follow. Family and friends are invited to bring a favorite memory of Richard to share.
