Rita Kay Bridges-Laflin, age 54 passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa to her parents, Michael and the late Sharon (Mangues) Jones. Rita graduated from Northwest High School in 1989 and went on to work for the companies Auto Zone, AVI Food Systems, and Big Lots. She later retired in 2021 from work, where she spent time with her loving husband and her family.

Rita was a hardworking women and would do anything for those she cared about, especially her kids, grand kids and animals. Her favorite past times were painting, diamond art and listening to her throwback music. While listening to her favorite music she could be found dancing and singing along, without missing a beat. When she was taking a break from dancing she could be found cheering on her Dallas Cowboys and her Michigan Wolverines! Rita had a couple favorite shows that she couldn't go without, her soap operas, Judge Judy, Dancing with the Stars, and of course her favorite football teams.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon, and brother, Thomas Jones. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 10 years, Robert Bridges-Laflin; children, Johnathon Taylor, Kimberly Laflin and Cody Taylor; grandchildren, Marissa Moore, Isabelle Stout and Serenity Laflin; father, Michael Jones,  siblings, Vivian Hunter, Thomas Jones, Michael Jones and Carl Jones. The family has entrusted the O.R. WOODYARD Co. Funeral home 1346 S. High St, Columbus, OH 43207 with private arrangements.
