Robert L. Hillis born April 7, 1940, died on September 16, 2021. Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Gross, and parents Robert L. Hillis and Louise Hillis. He is survived by his brother, William Hillis; his nieces, Pamela (Leroy) Castillo, Terri (Ferd) Kirby, Deborah Kemper (Larce); great nieces and nephews: Marc, Ashton, Emily, Taylor, and Leah; and faithful friends. Robert attended West Point and later taught in the Hamilton School District. He was an intellectual man strong in his Roman Catholic faith who enjoyed traveling, books, political rhetoric, and seemed to live life with a calm steadiness. A funeral service will be held at the Woodyard Northwest Chapel, 2990 Bethel Rd., Friday 9/24, with visitation from 11:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
