Rockford Matheny, known as "Rocky", 45 passed away on August 21, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at Mount Carmel Grove City hospital. Rocky Matheny is proceded in death by his grandmother, Beatrice Dixon Matheny, as well as a number of lost loved ones.

Rocky Matheny is survived by his wife, Trinity Matheny; children, Matthew Compton, Trinton Matheny, Marco Matheny, Sophia Matheny; parents, Bill and Lora Francis; sisters, Tina Matheny, Amy Badillo; grandparents, George and Katherine Francis; and a host of nieces, nephews, 2 grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Rocky Matheny attended Groveport Madison High School and worked in various skilled trades during his lifetime. His family attends Grove Church, formally known as Groveport Church of Christ in Christian Union. Although Rocky Matheny has lived in various areas of Ohio, he has always considered himself a born and raised Southsider of the city of Columbus. He enjoyed detailing and working on his cars, listening to music, being outdoors, and was known for having a cold Mountain Dew in one hand, and his "favorite candy of the time" in the other. He was always generous with everyone around.

Rocky Matheny will always be loved and missed. His memories, we will all cherish forever in our hearts. Friends and family are welcome and invited to come and celebrate the life of Rocky Matheny at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home at 1346 S. High St. Columbus, Ohio. Viewing will be held 5-8 pm Tuesday, August 27th and funeral service at 11am Wednesday, August 28th. Pastor Steve Snider will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Union Grove Cemetery in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
